This works great! Tested it out on both the iPhone and iPad and the player is really nice.

I used to have the same opinion and was very happy to show OneClick to patrons, but recent changes have turned this app into garbage. I hardly know where to begin. First, it is now excessively slow in updating. Deleted items don't delete from the app right away, and sometimes stay there for hours at a time. It has this funky "Download All" feature that doesn't actually download everything--and sometimes downloads nothing, even when a book is supposed to be ready. I've become leery about even steering patrons to this resource because I fear getting bogged down by hours of technical questions brought on by the app's inexplicable glitchiness. If they can't improve their service and address usability issues, I suggest dropping this vendor.

I agree Sean - I am having no luck with OneClick for iPad. It is difficult to navigate, terminology is confusing and it is extremely slow to connect, if it will connect at all. I have yet to be able to download anything successfully although I have a checked-out title ready and waiting. I click 'download now' and get the ever-spinning Loading icon, or a download bar that eventually makes it to the end, but then will take me nowhere. No wonder patrons are frustrated!

I've played extensively with this since my last rant. :-)
The big problem for the iPad and iOS users is that the latest version of the app no longer has the "Refresh" option (at least for now). In fact, most versions of the app I've seen don't have the "Refresh" option anymore, which is what made the the title appear (or disappear) in the app once it had been added or removed.
If you go and get a book, and return to the app, users must log out and then log back in to the app. This step now replaces the "Refresh" button, and will make the title appear. At this point, click on the "Download All" feature. I recommend just setting the device aside until all the files are downloaded. This usually takes less than 5 minutes. If you start the download and then get out of the app, the downloading pauses (based on every experiment I tried).
But it's pointless to hit the "Download All" button until you've done the log out/log in process to make the chosen title actually appear in the app. Otherwise that button does nothing at all.

Thanks for the info about the absent 'refresh' option and the need to log out, then in, then click download all. I gave up on Thursday morning, so I guess I was setting it aside by default. When I opened the OneClick app on my iPad on Friday morning, the audiobook was there and it works fine. Grrr!!

Sorry about the issues you all are having with this one. The only one I have had similar is that it is sometimes slow to connect. If you save your credentials, that might help? The other issue I have had is that signing up on devices does not always work and the patron has to try it on a computer and then it works just fine. About the refresh. I never had an issue with this. Instead of signing all the way out and back in, you just need to change the screen to another view, like to your holds, or to the browse page and back and works like a refresh button. The site is really not "garbage." Has a couple of quirks but really acts like Kindle Fires in that you expect the book to be there but it does not show up immediately and that is solved by either refreshing (changing screens and coming back) or waiting for a slow connection. Works similar for deleted items...just refresh (change screens) and it is usually only a few seconds and there ya go. There was never a refresh button on this app, so I think that might be part of the issue. Continue to post issues and if there are issues that are not resolved from some hints and tips, then we can report these to the company, but try this one and see if that makes it smoother for you. As far as the download all feature, same thing, the book needs to be showing up (with a refresh) or the download all button only downloads what is showing on the screen....the download all button does not really have anything to do with getting the books to show up in your checked out list. Good luck!

Stacy - sorry, but what you're saying here isn't entirely accurate. This app did (and in some cases, still does) have a refresh button on it. I'm looking at it on our Kindle Fire right now. That refresh option has now gone away on iOS devices, which is definitely causing a problem. The only option I see is to log out of the app and then log back in. Switching screens on the website, etc, still doesn't place the book in the "bookshelf" part of the app (to borrow Overdrive's terminology).

Ya know I have not played with OneClick on the Kindle fire much....so I am sure that could be where I am not getting all my facts straight. I know that switching screens has worked every time with me on the iPad and iPhone, so yes, the Kindle might be a whole world of differece and I will do some playing around with it, and see if I can figure something out or will report this issue to the company for them to work on. Thanks for the info.

I hear you on the differences. I don't understand all the details of operating systems to comprehend why so many of the apps operate with slight variances on different devices. We're still having patron issues with this app at SL regarding iPads. I wish a patron with a Galaxy tablet would stop in wanting this app, because I'd like to see what it looks like on one of those. The other day I had a patron with a new Kindle HD and they put the app on, and I showed them the app on our old Kindle Fire, and the darn thing didn't even look the same on the two devices! Bizarre . . .
