Based on some conversations I've had with patrons redirected from the Call Center, there's some misunderstanding about the Paperwhite and its ability to download Overdrive books through wifi. Patrons are saying that staff at other locations told them they had to bring in their USB cord and that sideloading books was their only option.
Assuming these patrons are describing things accurately, I wanted to drop a quick note to say such advice is largely untrue. I believe the first generation of the Paperwhite was 3G only (which would require the cord), but all subsequent models are either wifi only or wifi and 3G. These versions largely dominate the market share at this point and are likely to be what patrons bring in. Just a good reminder to ask the patron what version of the Paperwhite he or she has since they really might not need the cord at all.
Hope this helps!
