WMA formatted Audiobooks show as not being compatible with iPhones/iPods/and iPads but will download to a Mac after the applicable software is installed. To get a WMA formatted book onto your Apple device, you have to download it to your computer first (or Mac) via the overdrive media console, then transfer it to iTunes using the transfer button at the top of the software. When you sync your device, the book will be there under your "playlists"in your music files. Let me know if you have any issues with this process. I have done it several times with my PC but have not tried it on Mac and well, Overdrive and Apples products are still working things out.

A note a out the above directions. You need to adjust your settings in iTunes to "manually manage items" or this won't work! You must also have the most up to date version of iTunes downloaded an installed. I found a Mac I can practice on, so I am going to test to see if this works via Mac as I know this seems to be a roadblock when we throw a Mac in the mix but I am going to see if I can find a work around. I did here some mention of a software download that will convert a WMA file to the MP3 format, but there are so many to choose from, I don't know that we should be recommending this option to patrons. I will post my Mac test next week.
