This may be common knowledge at this point, but it was new to me. Much like Overdrive books, 3M books can be transferred to older versions of the Nook where the 3M app cannot be installed.
The transfer has to be done by downloading 3M's PC/MAC app (http://3m-ssd.implex.net/cloudapps/). When patrons go to the "My Books" section, they just need to plug their Nook into the USB drive. Then a green button will appear below each book title that says "Transfer to device."
Basically, the 3M computer app acts just like Adobe Digital Editions.

I have a Nook Simple Touch and I didn't know that this was possible. I'll give it a try!
