Hi all,
I posted this earlier, but in the wrong forum.
One Click Digital is now offering e-books as well as audio books. Right now, it appears the option exists only for some of the classics. I've no idea if we plan to expand on this aspect of their service. But we should at least know about it since patrons will probably ask.
If you haven't tried it yet, there are a few things to note. First, there's a second One Click Digital app you have to download. The standard one is strictly for audiobooks. The new one handles ebooks. Once downloaded, patrons will be asked to register the app with Adobe Digital Editions. This is nice, since most patrons are probably already going to have Overdrive and can therefore just type in the same user name and password.
The app seems relatively easy to use. Certain aspects of it look a bit like 3M.
At some point we should try to decide if the One Click Digital reader app is something we want to start installing on D2's. At the moment I'd vote for no, since there's only about 20 titles, all of which could also be obtained just as easily through Project Gutenberg or Google Books.

The One-Click app for Kindle does something strange on a Kindle Fire -- it automatically opens ebooks in Overdrive. I don't know what would have happened if the Kindle Fire had not had OMC installed.

The collection is called "Classic Core" and it was a bonus gift, of sorts. There are about 85 titles, and they are all simultaneous access.
