We are still working on 3M implementation. I hope you all are trying it out in Trials and Previews. It works really well for iphones and ipads.

3M is up and running. In the next release they are scheduled to fix the fact that patrons do not get an email when their hold comes in.

I'm going to post this to the Kindle Fire forum as well, but there is a relatively easy way to download and install the 3M app on the Kindle Fire. It's not available through Amazon.com yet, but 3M has made a direct download available at ebookdownload.3m.com/apps/android/3mcloudlibrary.apkPutting this address into the Kindle Fire's browser will cause the app to download straight away. I've put it on SL's Kindle Fire and it is working just fine. With the way things change, this work-around may be useless by tomorrow, but for now it will serve for those who'd like to explore 3M on their Kindle Fire. No idea if this direct download also works for the newer HD models. Sean

I posted this under eReaders as well: the 'notice' option for 3M appears to be live. My iPad wanted me to update my 3M app this morning, and that's where it took me. You put your email address into your 3M profile. We'll see how it works!

I'd posted this elsewhere a month or two ago under other categories and am, stupidly, just realizing I should post it here as well. There's another and I think better link to put the 3M Cloud app on the Kindle Fire. It's at: apps.goodereader.com/android-apps/e-reader-apps/?did=12496Just make sure the patron has set their Fire to allow 3rd party installations, and this link will allow them to download and install the app very quickly. I found the previous link I posted to be rather hit and miss, and sometimes requires the additional installation of a download manager. The link from goodereader.com is much more straightforward.
