As people have probably discovered with the new Overdrive design, the Overdrive Read format has returned. Overdrive Read lets people download the book from anywhere and read it in their browser, without need of Adobe Digital Editions or going through Amazon. As long as users stick to OVerdrive Read (and don't select a download format), they can now return this format anytime they want by logging into their Overdrive account.
I'm finding that the Overdrive Read format is causing a lot of browser crashes, though, on both laptops and mobile devices. It froze up both a Kindle Fire and an iPad Mini, and has crashed the Firefox browser on the laptop I'm using four times now.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Overdrive Read format? I just wanted to report it. I think I'd still suggest steering patrons away from it.

Oh no;-( I have not yet experiences this but only really used the "Read" format when we had it for a few days a while back......and it seemed to work fine then. I will experiement with it some more and if we find it is still crashing next week (I am going to give them a week to get it worked out on their own) then I will send in a support ticket.
