Many nook and mac users (including myself) are getting a 'user not activated' message when trying to open downloaded books on the nook. Apparently Barnes & Noble upgraded their software not too long ago which is causing the problems. A complete reboot of my nook and reinstalling Adobe digital Editions on my mac seemed to solve the problem, but after turning the nook off for a couple of days I once again couldn't open anything. I found more information online about deleting a hidden file on the nook. Knowing unix is a help in order to do that. I also had to reinstall ADE again. I seem to be able to access my books on my nook, but now ADE is having issues. To be continued when I have more information. BYW, I have a nook simple touch, not sure if this is an issue on other versions.

Sean posted a reply about this. Basically the Nooks are coming Pre-authorized.....so what you did is correct...have to deauthorize and re authorize, so not sure if this is a mac issue or a nook issue but thanks for posting.
