Apparently the One Click Digital app for downloadable audio is now available for the Kindle Fire--in fact, it has been available since late September.
As with the Overdrive app now, the One Click Digital App is obtained through Amazon.com. The Overdrive app only allows for the direct downloading of approximately 1/4 of JCPL's total audio holdings (MP3 format only), so One Click Digital is a great option for our patrons. I believe we up to about 5,000 books, and all of them may be directly downloaded to iPads, etc.
I believe the app is still unavailable for the Nook Color or Nook Tablet. I'm seeing a lot of Kindle Fire customers at SL since Thanksgiving, so if they do want audio downloads then the One Click app is something to tell them about.

The more I am showing OneClick to staff and patrons the more I am loving it! Thanks, I will download this app to the Patron Ed Kindle Fire and test it out.

Yeah, it's really good. I put it on our staff Kindle Fire without too much hassle. There are a couple of potential quirks about downloading titles through OCD, especially for folks who are used to Overdrive, but I really think it works better. The app seems to be vastly improved from several months ago.

The player on OCD (what an acronym!) is soooo much better than Overdrive. Thanks for this info and for testing it out!
