Over the last day, I've helped people who have the Kindle HD 7," the new Nook Color Tablet, and an older Pandigital tablet download and install the Overdrive app.
There appears to be a change to the latest iteration of the app. When you get to the point where you're downloading the book, the older versions immediately launched you back to the bookshelf feature of the app, where the book appears.
This no longer appears to be the case. A brief message flashes across the screen saying the book is downloaded, but otherwise the patron is left looking at the download page.
The message flashes by fairly fast enough that patrons may miss it. Bottom line: it seems like you now have to manually go back to the Bookshelf rather than being taken there automatically.
It would be interesting to see whether this holds true for new app installations in the iPad, or if this is just a factor on Droid devices.

Hi! Apparently is it just an update to the app in general. I just did a class at WR and while demonstrating the Overdrive app to the class I also got the quick message and stayed on the checked out items page rather than being redirected. I had updated the app just yesterday so I think we can expect this change in the app across the board unless someone has not run the update. Thanks for posting this!
